Photographer Syncs Camera With Fan to Demonstrate Stroboscopic Effect

A creator's optical experiment successfully matches video frame rates with rotating fan blades to create a stationary visual illusion.

Content creator Pavel Mamontov, known online as Lensevision, captured widespread attention by synchronizing a video camera with a rotating fan based on the stroboscopic effect. The principle dictates that a camera recording at 30 frames per second will make a three-blade fan rotating at 10 revolutions per second appear stationary.

Using a potentiometer to manage motor speeds, Mamontov navigated fluctuating RPMs to align the blades and symbols, showcasing a practical demonstration of fundamental physics in digital video capture.
