GitHub has officially launched the 14th edition of its annual month-long game development jam, Game Off 2026. Thousands of global developers are invited to build innovative games inspired by this year's central theme: SHIFT.

Whether shifting gears in a racing simulator, altering dimensional perspectives, or building mechanics centered entirely around the keyboard's Shift keys, participants have complete creative freedom. Developers have until December 1, 2026, to conceptualize, build, and submit their unique takes on the theme, fostering experimentation across both veteran and novice game creators.
